Cultural nomadism
"OELLE goes where the projects take it": we believe that the project determines the choice of exhibition venue, not vice versa. Over the years, we have come to understand that, in keeping with the OELLE vision, forcing curators or artists to conform to a single, specific exhibition venue limits their expressive and productive freedom, sapping the project's power.
In keeping with this vision, several venues have hosted the foundation's exhibition projects, including the Ursino Castle in Catania, the fOn Art Gallery, spread across five floors of the Four Points by Sheraton in Aci Castello, and the Phil Stern Pavilion, part of the Historical Museum of the 1943 Landing in Sicily in Catania. Nomadism as a basis for artistic activities allows the Foundation to explore relevant contemporary themes, stimulating reflections on the relationship with modern spaces and identity in the age of supermodernity. This approach leads Oelle to create projects that are simultaneously critical, poetic, and deeply connected to the human experience. The operational headquarters is located in Aci Castello, Catania.
