Anna Tusa
Spring 2022

From Anna Tusa's "anomalous" residency in the spring of 2022, ideas and thoughts emerge when faced with a void, a prolonged absence. Nebulose is a selection of photographs taken by the artist from 2012 to the recent past. A private space, yet simultaneously inhabited by natural, animal, and human elements that constitute its otherness, its life. The creative project revolved around the concept of absence, understood not only as a temporary void, but as a condition that, as it continues, transforms into lack, deprivation, and loss. These emotional states are deeply rooted in the intimate and personal dimension. From this reflection, an exploration of one's private space is born, yet inhabited by silent presences—objects, plants, animals, human figures—that represent its otherness, life, resistance, and the need for hope.
The result is a series of photographs taken during the residency but also including images taken since 2012, in a poetic continuum between past and present, intimate and collective.
