Daniela Ortiz, a contemporary Peruvian artist, Daniela Ortiz spent a month in Aci Castello, Catania, as a guest of the OELLE Mediterraneo Antico ETS Foundation. From May 27 to June 30, 2025, the artist had the opportunity to explore Sicilian life, drawing inspiration for her future works, which will be exhibited, starting September 30, 2025, in the presence of the artist, at the Foundation's fOn Art Gallery at the Four Points Sheraton in Catania.
Daniela Ortiz found particular inspiration in Trecastagni (Catania) while visiting the collection of votive offerings housed in the town's main church.
Her artistic practice has evolved over time into visual and manual works, developing artworks in ceramics, collage, and formats such as children's books, in order to distance herself from the aesthetics of Eurocentric conceptual art.
